Santa Claus may be coming to town but The Pillowman is already here!

Posted on: December 12th, 2012 by Charlotte Sanders

The end of term is fast approaching but before everyone heads home for the holidays we’ve got one more fantastic show on offer.

The much anticipated The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh is finally here.

What better way to end what has been a fantastic first season in our newly renovated building than with McDonagh’s masterfully written, darkly comic thriller?

In an unnamed police state, a writer has been arrested because the content of his stories bares a striking resemblance to a series of gruesome child murders. Interrogated by two brutal detectives, he claims to know nothing of such murders but the two detectives holding him are determined to get a confession by any means necessary…. Also in their custody is his younger, brain damaged brother, who perhaps knows more than he first lets on. A darkly comic thriller like no other.

Performances run from Tuesday 11th December to Friday 14th December with doors at 7pm everyday (7.30pm start). There is also a matinee performance on Friday with doors at 2pm for a 2.30pm start.

There is also a special alumni performance on Saturday 15th December at 2pm for more information about this send an email to

Tickets are £4 for Nottingham New Theatre members, £5 for concessions (students, staff and over 60’s) and £8 for members of the public.

Led by a stellar production team and featuring an original score this is definitely not one to miss out on.
