This week at the Nottingham New Theatre

It’s that time of year again! It’s the first show of the academic year and that can mean only one thing… Our intake of newest and keenest freshers are assembled and ready to strut their stuff for their debut on the, let’s be honest, hallowed boards of the New Theatre stage.

With some of the theatre’s old hands on directing duties, over 50 freshers will appear in this unique annual showcase of Nottingham University’s latest theatrical talents. Featuring an eclectic mix of short scenes and sketches for your listening and viewing pleasure.

Limited run. Only 2 performances! Book your tickets here

This Saturday, Vessel

Vessel is a heartfelt new play about five siblings building a boat. Ten years ago, their brother John disappeared out to sea. Today, they reunite to build a vessel in his memory and confront their past in the way they did as children in Ireland – by telling stories, acting them out and disagreeing violently at every turn.

Shot-through with moments of powerful physical theatre using only raincoats, rope and torchlight, Vessel looks at the dangers of making myths out of memories and the fact that we can never escape family.
