About the show
An Oxbridge hopeful. A mysterious new girl. A sadistic bully. An athlete. A philosopher. A perfectionist and a pushover are all revising in the sixth form's library. It's exam season in a British grammar school, A level mocks are right around the corner and teenage angst is at an all-time high. When Lily arrives at her new school, William immediately takes a liking to her. From here she meets the rest of the group, and is quickly swept up in the social hierarchy established within their bubble, and the power dynamics which begin to escalate to insanity. Punk Rock explores the psychological pressures, latent aggression and social alienation of high-achieving young people. As the play progresses, many of the characters reveal possession of different mental disorders and we see how these interact with each other and slowly drive the group to violent extremes.
Straight through, with no interval. Latecomer policy to be confirmed.
