Signing in
Last updated Sun 27 Sept
Press Sign in at the top of any page, type your email address and press Continue. If you followed a link to something that needs an account, you return to it once you are in.
With an emailed link
- After your address, press Email me a sign-in link.
- Open the link in the message. It lasts 15 minutes, works once, and takes you back to where you started.
The link needs no password, and it confirms your address if you have not confirmed it yet.
With a password
- After your address, type your password in the field under the link and press Sign in.
- If you have set up an authenticator app, type the six-digit code it shows. If you do not have it with you, press I do not have my authenticator and use one of your recovery codes.
With a passkey
Where your browser supports it, your passkeys are offered as you tap the address field, and Use a passkey sits under the form. Your device checks it is you with a fingerprint, your face or a PIN, and no code is asked for afterwards. You can add a passkey from your account settings once you are signed in.
If you have forgotten your password
- After your address, press I have forgotten my password, then Send a reset link.
- Open the link in the message. It lasts 1 hour and works once.
- Choose a new password and press Set my password. That signs you in, and any other device you were signed in on will need the new password.
You do not need a password at all: Email me a sign-in link works every time.
The screen says "Check your email" whatever address you type, and the same message covers a wrong password, an unconfirmed address and a closed account. That way the form never tells anyone whether somebody has an account here.
Theatre addresses
Committee members type their @newtheatre.org.uk address and press Continue with Google. A
theatre address never has a password, so the screen offers Google alone.
Still stuck
- "Too many attempts. Try again in 15 minutes.": wait as long as it says, then try once more.
- "That link has expired or has already been used. Ask for a new one.": each emailed link works once. Ask for another from the sign-in screen.
- If you have lost your authenticator and your recovery codes, contact the theatre's IT Manager, who can reset it for you.
